Sector Capital and consumer goods sector

The development of information technology has connected the products’ purpose or their roles to how data is exchanged with the outside world

ABMI’s mission is successfully imagining the products and equipment of the future

We focus on products / capital goods made from specialized materials, plastics processing, and designing skids, or complex products

Equipment and products are no longer just mechanical

The essence of today’s equipment comes through its environment and the information that it exchanges.

The capital and consumer goods sector covers many industries. ABMI focuses on products / capital goods made from specialized materials (stainless steel, inconel, mecanel), plastics processing, design of skids, or complex products with embedded sensors, electronics, firmware development, connectivity, up to developing the “low-level” layer for cloud data collection.

For ABMI, equipment and products are no longer just mechanical as they were fifty years ago.

The essence of equipment and products comes through the information that they exchange with the outside world. This information may of course be mechanical in nature (mechanical contacts, mechanical function, environment), but not exclusively. The luxury market has long understood that the essence of a luxury product is the “emotional” information that it provides.

This has led in almost every sector to the development of perceived quality, the quality of the materials used, the quality of their assembly, and any sounds and even smells that they produce. And of course, the development of information technology has connected the story and purpose of products or their roles to how data is exchanged with the outside world (other objects, other machines, people, animals, etc.).

Designing a product also means designing its industrialization and manufacture

ABMI covers all the areas of expertise required such as electronics / IoT / Cloud; plastics processing; mechanical/electronic design, etc. ABMI is particularly valued for its overall industrial vision.

ABMI’s expertise in every area

“Though our engineering centres, we have access to specific know-how”

For ABMI, while a product’s roots are grounded in the material, its purpose is more ethereal: the function that it fulfils, the emotions that it causes, the data that it exchanges with others. Like a tree with its roots buried in the earth, the material, and its leaves facing the sky and … the clouds.

For ABMI, our mission is successfully imagining the products and equipment of the future from all these points of view.

Designing a product also means designing its industrialization and manufacture: where will it be manufactured, assembled, who will do it and how, and with what production monitoring?ABMI’s materials expertise covers all of these areas. We are particularly recognized for our expertise in: electronics / IoT / Cloud; plastics processing; mechanical/electronic design and we are particularly valued for our industrial vision: guided by usage cases, the purpose is effective production (or effective start-up of equipment) at the desired pace and intended target price.

Several of our engineering centres have robust expertise in all of these areas. Some have specialized know-how in specialized machinery or robotics / cobotics.
